Information you provide

• Account data: name, email address, password (stored hashed by our auth provider)
• Consignment submissions: item details (brand, size, condition, category, description), photos, payout acceptance, and seller contact information
• Shipping-related information you provide or that we derive (for example, ship-from location) to facilitate labels and marketplace listings
• Communications you send us (support emails, feedback)

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and approximate location derived from IP
• Cookies and similar technologies for session management, authentication, and basic analytics

Information from third parties

• Marketplace and pricing data (for example, comparable listing prices from eBay) used to generate estimates
• Sale, fulfillment, and payout status from marketplaces and payment processors when integrated

We use personal information to:

• Provide consignment services: estimates, listing, sale coordination, and payouts
• Create and manage your account and dashboard
• Process photos and item details with automated tools (including AI) for identification and pricing
• Communicate about submissions, sales, shipping labels, and payouts
• Prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and comply with law
• Improve and secure our website and services

We use third-party AI services (including OpenAI) to analyze item descriptions and, where applicable, support pricing estimates. Photos and text you submit may be sent to these providers for processing. We do not use your submissions to train public models on your behalf; provider terms govern their handling of API data.

Automated estimates are not human appraisals. You may contact us if you have questions about a specific decision affecting your submission.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the service:

• Service providers under contract: hosting (for example, Vercel), database and storage (for example, Supabase), email delivery, authentication, AI processing, and analytics
• Marketplaces (for example, eBay) when we list and sell your items: listing content, photos, and fulfillment data appear on those platforms per their policies
• Payment processors when we pay you or process related transactions
• Legal and safety: when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to respond to valid legal process
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required

Photos and item descriptions you submit are stored on our systems and may be published on third-party marketplaces to sell your items. Once published, that content is also subject to the marketplace's privacy policy and may be visible to the public.

We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Item photos and transaction records may be kept for a reasonable period after a sale or account closure for accounting, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes.

You may request deletion of account data subject to exceptions (for example, records we must retain for legal or completed-sale purposes).

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of certain information
• Opt out of marketing emails (we send primarily transactional messages today)
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

To exercise these rights, email support@artificialthrift.com. We may verify your identity before responding. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights where prohibited by law.

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know categories of information collected, request deletion, and correct inaccurate information. Our services are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We operate in the United States. If you access the service from outside the U.S., you understand that information may be processed and stored in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data protection laws.

Our site may link to third-party marketplaces or tools. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. When we list items on eBay or other platforms, those platforms' terms and privacy policies apply to buyer-facing activity.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised Policy with an updated “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
